Description

The Alcester Unionist Club, located at 46 and 48 Alcester High Street and 50 Stratford Road, is a terrace of three houses that date from the late 18th century to the 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick and features a dentil cornice, a hipped tile roof, and brick ridge stacks. It has an L-plan layout and stands three storeys tall with a seven-window range.

The ground floor has been significantly altered, with a wide recessed entrance in the second bay that includes a glazed door and panels from the late 20th century. Number 50 features a mid to late 19th-century shop front facing both High Street and Stratford Road. The entrance on the curved corner has double-leaf half-glazed doors with an overlight and a reeded wood surround. There are two rectangular bays with thin shafts and a continuous fascia, while the central bay has an ogee-headed window that may have originally been a doorway. The other windows on the ground floor are from the late 20th century.

On the first floor, there are 16-pane sash windows and a narrower round-arched central window. The lower second floor has a mix of sashes and casements, with gauged brick flat and other arches. The left return side has two bays facing up High Street, while the right return side features a window on the corner and a one-window range to Stratford Road. The two-storey, two-window range to Stratford Road includes two plank doors with gauged brick arches. The rear of No. 46 has twin gables. The interior has not been inspected.
