Description

This chest tomb, located approximately 3.5 metres south of the southeast corner of the chancel of the Church of St. Michael, dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is made of ironstone and features a moulded plinth and top, along with square corner balusters. The long sides of the tomb have moulded panels, while the short sides to the east and west are adorned with fielded panels. The tomb bears inscriptions commemorating members of the Whittlesee family, with dates ranging from 1752 to 1842. It is included for its group value.
