Boddington Farmhouse

A farmhouse, dating from around 1600 or earlier, with alterations in the 18th century and a front range built around 1810. The construction is primarily brick, with buff brick headers to the front range, while the rear and right return feature timber framing with brick infill. The roof is old tile, with brick end stacks. The rear range has a double-depth plan and projects to the left.

The front range is two storeys high and symmetrical, with three windows. It has a top dentiled brick cornice. The entrance has a moulded frame surrounding an early 20th-century door and a simple porch with a swept roof on poles. The windows have sills and rubbed brick flat arches over 6/6 sashes. A gabled roof tops the structure. The projecting rear range has a hipped end gable and a variety of windows, including 20th-century small-paned casements. Part of the wall to the right is later brickwork.

The right return has a pointed entrance and a small, segmental-headed window with a three-light, horizontally sliding sash. There are two gables on the right return, the one at the rear being timber-framed.

The rear elevation shows square timber framing and a variety of small-paned casements, along with two entrances. The right end has an outshut under a catslide roof with a 19th-century gabled dormer. A single-storey service wing is also present.

Inside, there is exposed timber framing to the cross walls. The large fireplace has a bressumer and a bread oven, and to the left is a cupboard with a wide-boarded door.
