Description

Oxhill Manor House is a manor house dating from the early to late 17th century. It is built of squared, coursed ironstone and features quoins, coped gables with kneelers, and finials. The roof is a mix of stone slate, tile, and slate, with ridge and end stone stacks, as well as rendered stacks with stone bases. The building has two storeys plus an attic and presents a four-window range in an H-plan layout.

To the right of the central range, there is a 20th-century plank door with an overlight and lintel. The ground and first floors have cross windows with lintels and keyblocks, and there is a single light casement above the door. Each cross wing has a three-light mullioned window on the gable end, although the right cross wing's window is now without mullions. These windows feature hood moulds and label stops, while the remaining openings have 19th-century casements. To the right of the cross wing, there is another three-light mullioned window with a hood mould and label stops, along with an additional three-light mullioned window on the side. At the rear of the central range, there is a 17th-century plank door in a chamfered surround.

Inside, the manor house has a large four-centred fireplace with moulded spandrels and chamfered jambs that have fleur-de-lys stops. There is another four-centred fireplace with a chamfered stone bressumer and jambs. The interior also features chamfered beams with ogee stops, a turned baluster staircase leading to the attic, and some 18th-century panelling and cupboard, along with some 17th-century panelling.
