Description
The Green is a house located in Shottery, Stratford-upon-Avon, dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features a timber-frame structure with colourwashed brick infill on a plastered plinth, along with some weatherboarding. The roof is thatched and has a half-hipped gable on the left end, with a brick stack positioned at the rear of the ridge. The house has a two-unit plan and a lower wing on the right side, standing two storeys tall with a four-window range.
The entrance is situated to the right of the centre and includes a 20th-century gabled canopy and door. The windows are fitted with wooden mullions and leaded glazing; the ground floor has two windows with two lights each and a narrow light on the right end. The first floor features two windows with two lights and one window with four lights to the right. The right end has a five-light dormer with canted sides. The square framing is complemented by braced wall plates. The left return has two-light windows on the ground floor, while the right return displays weatherboarding over the entrance and window. The rear of the house is similar in appearance.
