Description

Ladle Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse constructed from squared, coursed limestone, featuring ashlar quoins and coped gables. It has a stone slate roof with ashlar end stacks and is two storeys tall plus an attic, arranged in an L-shaped plan with a four-window range. The central entrance consists of a four-panelled door with an overlight and a flat stone arch, topped by a 19th-century hood. The ground and first floors have a series of four 19th-century horned sash windows with flat stone arches. There is also a blocked window above the door with a flat stone arch. On either side of the roof, there are 19th-century hipped dormers, and a sundial is located on the right gable end.

At the rear, there is a long 18th-century stone range with a coped gable and a stone slate roof, featuring rendered ridge stacks. This section is also two storeys high with a four-window range. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with a large flat hood supported by pillars. The windows include 18th-century two- and three-light casements with leaded lights, along with some 19th- and 20th-century casements. To the left, there is a small stone lean-to. Attached to the right of the farmhouse is a wall made of squared, coursed limestone with stone coping, extending approximately 40 metres and standing about 2 metres high.
