Description
Deep Carrs Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse constructed from coursed, squared limestone with a pantile roof. The building has an L-shaped plan, featuring a wing to the rear right and an outshut that fills the angle. It stands two storeys high with attics and has two windows on the first floor. The farmhouse is characterized by large quoins and a part-glazed doorway located to the right of the centre, which is framed by a plain ashlar surround. On either side of the doorway are 20th-century casement windows that have replaced the original 2-light square-faced mullioned windows, with the mullions removed and the jambs rebuilt. The first-floor windows are similarly styled. The building also features shaped kneelers and chamfered gable copings, along with rebuilt brick end stacks. The gable of the rear wing is designed as side gables.
