Description
The Beeches is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed from coursed squared limestone, with the front and right sides rendered. It features an artificial slate roof that is hipped to the right, a stone end stack on the left, and a brick lateral stack on the right. The building has a double-depth plan, stands two storeys tall with an attic, and has a four-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with an overlight and a straight stone hood supported by brackets. This door is flanked by three-light wood mullion and transom windows, with similar two-light windows on the first floor. The left gable is stone-coped, and there are two hipped dormers. Inside, the farmhouse boasts ogee stop-chamfered spine beams, stone-flagged floors, and an open-well staircase leading from the ground floor to the attic, featuring turned balusters. There is also an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and a timber bolection-moulded fireplace in the upper room. The roof is a collar-truss design.
