Description
Rectory Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with a remodel in the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features a plain tile roof with brick end stacks on stone bases. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high with an attic, presenting a two-window main range. The principal front faces the garden and includes a central part-glazed door set in a moulded wood surround, topped with a timber lintel and a segmental hood supported by brackets and thin timber supports. There are 3-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, also with timber lintels. The exterior is accented by quoins and two small roof dormers, with a wing extending to the rear left. Inside, notable features include a moulded stop-chamfered spine beam, a fitted cupboard with shaped shelves, and an elegant dog-leg staircase with splat balusters and a newel post adorned with simple finials.
