Description

32 and 34 Henley Street is a house that has been divided into two properties. It dates from the 17th century, with additions from the 18th and early 19th centuries. The building is timber framed and rendered, topped with a late 20th-century concrete tile roof and a small brick ridge stack. It has been extended to form an L-shape, featuring a single entrance that leads to a through passage. The house is two storeys tall with an attic and has two gables, presenting a two-window range. The entrance is marked by a late 20th-century six-panelled door flanked by wood pilasters.

The ground floor includes a small canted bay window on the left and a rectangular bay window on the right, both with sashes and a lean-to roof that spans the entire facade. The first floor and attic have casement windows. At the rear, some square framing is exposed on the first floor. To the right, there is a taller projecting gabled wing from the 18th or early 19th century, made of colourwashed brick, featuring 19th-century casements with segmental heads. To the left, there is a low single-storey projection.

Inside No. 34, some framing is exposed along with broad chamfered ceiling beams. A room in the rear wing contains a balancing door and a cupboard with round-headed 18th or early 19th-century panelled doors and surrounds.
