Description
21 and 23 Henley Street are two houses that may have originally been built as one structure. They feature a timber frame, which is rendered and color washed, with a concrete tile roof and a brick ridge stack. The buildings are arranged in an L-plan with later additions and stand two stories tall with an attic, displaying a gable on No.23. The front has a two-window range, with late 20th-century doors and a central door leading to a passage. No.21 has 19th-century iron casements, while No.23 has late 20th-century wooden casements. At the rear, No.23 includes a timber-framed gabled wing with jowled posts and color washed brick infill. No.21 has early to mid-19th-century color washed brick additions and a later single-storey wing. Inside, No.21 reveals exposed framing, and the heavy framing of the end wall of No.19 is visible in a bedroom.
