Description

Park Farm Cottages is a house that has been divided into two separate homes. The core of the building dates from the 17th century or earlier and features a timber frame that has been encased in brick from the 18th and 19th centuries. The roof is hipped and covered with plaintiles. The structure is in an L shape, consisting of a main range and a later crosswing. It has two storeys with scattered windows, including timber and metal casements, with those on the ground floor set beneath segmental arches. There is one 18th-century casement window on the first floor with leaded lights. The main wing has two entrances, one with a boarded door and the other with a 20th-century glazed door. The building has brick chimney stacks, with one located off-centre on the main ridge and one on each end wall of the main range. Inside, there is a late 17th-century or early 18th-century casement window on the let floor that has been blocked by the later crosswing. The tie beams feature cut-away arches to allow access to the upper storey rooms, but the remaining roof structure is not visible.
