Description
Laurel Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a core dating back to the 16th century, featuring a timber frame and a 19th-century red brick facing, topped with a slate roof. The building has a three-cell layout, with the left section added later. It is 1½ storeys high and has three windows beneath segmental brick arches. The left window is a single casement, while the two windows on either side of the door have a pair of casements with a panel mullion in between. The door and frame are from the late 19th century but are likely in their original position, creating a lobby entrance. There is a 20th-century porch and three gabled casement dormers. A 19th-century brick stack is present. Inside, the farmhouse features heavy joists, one with a 3½-inch chamfer and another with a 2-inch chamfer that has a broach stop. Two of the three tie beams have been cut, and there is no access to the roof.
