Description
The Gate Inn is a house that has been converted into a public house, dating from the 17th to early 18th century, with later additions. It is constructed of squared coursed ironstone, with the right end rendered. The roof is partly tiled and partly covered with Welsh slate, featuring brick stacks at the ends and along the ridge. The building has two storeys plus an attic and a six-window range, following a three-unit plan. There are two entrances on the left, one of which is blocked. The entrance features a plank and rail door. To the left, there is a 20th-century bay window, while to the right, there is another 20th-century bay window alongside a 20th-century three-light metal casement window. On the first floor, there are three wooden cross windows with opening lights and two tall windows with opening lights. The roof has two gabled dormers, with ironstone quoins and moulded kneelers on the left. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered beam.
