SP35NW ASHORNE HILL 1901-1/3/177 Barn approximately 60 metres 02/06/89 south-west of Ashorne Hill Farmhouse

GV II

Barn. Late C17/early C18 with late C18/early C19 alterations. Timber-frame with brick infill and red brick; corrugated-iron roof. EXTERIOR: 4-bay structure. Threshing floor to left of centre has opposing doorways. Square framing with braces, but bay to right of centre has been rebuilt in brick, as have most of right return and rear. INTERIOR: recorded as having jowled studs; queen-strut trusses with clasped principals, trenched purlins and ridge piece.
