Description
This building is a barn and stables or looseboxes located approximately 20 meters northwest of Contone House. It was constructed in 1667 and has undergone some later alterations. The structure is made of regularly coursed ironstone and features a slate roof, likely consisting of seven bays. There is a central cartway, and two doorways to the right have the lower halves of stable doors with painted wood lintels. A vent is also present. The left half of the building is largely obscured by later changes. In the left corner, there is a datestone with two round arched panels inscribed 'E.B. In the year of our Lord God: John Basse 1667'. The roof structure has been partly renewed and includes through purlins and one or more king post trusses. The interior has not been fully inspected. This building is included for its group value.
