Description

Court Farmhouse and the attached coach house are located in Temple Grafton. The farmhouse dates from the 17th century, with later additions and alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed dressed blue lias, featuring some tile-hanging, and has a hipped and gabled roof covered with renewed tiles, complete with tile cresting and brick stacks at the ends and ridge. The building is arranged in a U-plan.

The exterior consists of two storeys with a three-window range. There is a cogged brick frieze above the ground floor and tile-hanging on the first floor. The entrance features a flat arch and a 20th-century half-glazed door. The windows are small-paned casements; those on the ground floor are set under flat arches, while the first-floor windows are located in gabled flanking raking half-dormers. There is also one basement window to the right and a single-storey outshut on the right return.

On the rear elevation facing the farmyard, there are two half-hipped wings. It has two entrances, one in the central part and the other in the left wing, both with plank doors. The varied windows include small-paned casements, and there is a hipped dormer on the left. The left return features a catslide outshut.

The attached coach house on the outer return of the right wing has three segmental-headed entrances with paired doors. The gable includes a first-floor entrance and a pitching hole, while the rear has a catslide outshut. The interior of the farmhouse is believed to have been remodelled.
