Description

Top Farm Cottage is a house dating from the 17th or 18th century, extensively restored in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed blue lias rubble with a plastered gable and a thatched roof to the rear, incorporating a stone stack. The building has a right-angled, single-unit plan with a right return outshut.

The exterior is single-storey with an attic. The ground floor features two windows with 20th-century 2-light, small-paned casements under timber lintels, along with a similar window to the outshut on the right. The plastered gable has a similar window with a 3-light casement. A 20th-century single-storey gabled addition with a connecting flat-roofed porch is present on the left return, above which is an eyebrow dormer. The interior was not inspected.
