Description

Hilltop Cottage is a house dating to the 17th century, with later additions. It is timber-frame construction with plaster or brick infill, and some colourwashed coursed rubble. The roof is steeply pitched and thatched, with brick end stacks. The house has a three-unit plan.

The exterior is single-storey plus attic, with a three-window front. A small, round-ended stone projection on the right-hand end is likely a former bread oven. The windows are 2-light casements; the central window has leaded glazing, and the right-hand window has small-paned glazing. There are two dormers, both with 2-light casements and leaded glazing. The timber framing is square with one brace.

The right return is of rubble and includes an entrance within a brick lean-to outshut; the door is set within a moulded wood door frame. The left return also has rubble and a brick lean-to outshut with a tile roof. The rear has a 20th-century single-storey outshut. The interior was not inspected during the listing assessment.
