Description
Church Farmhouse and attached outbuildings and stables is a farmhouse with origins dating from the late 17th century, though it has been mainly altered in the 19th century. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone with lias dressings and features a slate roof. It has a 4-unit plan and stands two storeys high. The façade includes a five-window range with 3-, 4-, and 6-light wood-mullioned and transomed windows, which have cast-iron diamond glazing bars and are set under gauged stone arches. There is a blank window on the far right. The central and flanking bays project forward and are topped with gables. A central 20th-century door is positioned beneath an overlight and is framed by a gauged stone head. The gables feature ashlar parapets and brick and stone stacks at the ridge and ends, with blank tablets in each gable. The gable on the right has a 17th-century two-light stone-mullioned window. Attached to the rear are a range of 19th-century outbuildings and stables that are designed in a similar style.
