Description
No. 2 London Road is a public house that has been converted into a dwelling. It likely dates from the mid-17th century to the 19th century. The building is constructed of regularly coursed limestone, which is now painted, and features a combination of plain-tile, slate, and concrete tile roofs. It originally had a T-shaped plan and is two storeys high. The entrance front has a three-window range with a central cross wing that projects forward. The windows are casement style with glazing bars, and there is a canted bay in the cross wing. To the right, there is a 19th-century panelled door. The building has brick and ashlar stacks located at the ridge and end, and there is a 19th-century brick extension to the left of the cross wing. The interior has not been inspected, and the range to the left may date from the 18th century. This building was formerly known as the Marquis of Granby Public House.
