Description

Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the late 17th century, with early 19th-century rebuilding and later alterations. It is constructed of red brick, featuring a diaper pattern on the south side and blue brick on the boundary wall, which has stone quoins. The roof is tiled, and there are end and centre ridge stacks. The building is two stories high with a three-window front. It has three-light segmental-head casements, although the ground floor right window has been replaced by a flat-roofed bay that combines a part-glazed door and a three-light casement. There is a dentilled cornice and a segmental-headed central entrance to the left of the bay window, which has a 20th-century part-glazed door. To the right, there is a further lower wing with two windows. The boundary wall, approximately 1 meter high and 20 meters long, runs southeast and is contemporary with the south gable. This gable is the most prominent remnant of the earlier house, indicating that the original eaves height was much lower. The interior has not been inspected.
