Description
There are two headstones located approximately 11 meters south of the south door of the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Tanworth-in-Arden. Both headstones are made of sandstone ashlar. The first headstone is dedicated to Elizabeth Waring, who died in 1766 and was described as "late of Solyhull." It is rectangular with a cambered head and features an oval inscription panel surrounded by carved foliage and festoons, with two winged cherub's heads above. The second headstone is for Josephine Waring, who died in 1769. It is also rectangular but has a shaped head and includes an oval inscription panel surrounded by carved festoons and scrolls, with a winged cherub's head above. All the listed items in the churchyard are considered to form a group.
