Description
The gates, screen walls, posts, and chains at Dunchurch Lodge Estate were built between 1906 and 1908 by Gilbert Fraser of Liverpool for John Lancaster. They serve as the main entrance to the estate. The structure features wrought iron double gates alongside side gates, supported by four openwork iron piers topped with finials. There are square brick piers with stone caps and ball finials. The screen walls are concave and curved, with short return walls that have stone coping, extending approximately 50 meters in length. Wooden posts, about 1 meter high, are linked by chains and enclose elliptical lawns. This installation is part of the significant group of buildings and registered landscape at Dunchurch Lodge.
