Description
Coton House stableblock is a late 18th-century building located approximately 200 meters west of Coton House. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and features a hipped slate roof. The stableblock is two storeys high and has an 11-window range, with a five-bay wing extending to the rear from the right side.
The central archway has a gauged brick arch, stone imposts, and a keyblock. Above the archway is a brick dentilled pediment, which has a small room situated above it. The ground and first floors have 19th and 20th-century windows, including one window in the room above the pediment. All windows are fitted with stone sills and gauged brick lintels, which have stone or concrete keyblocks. The building also features a dentilled brick eaves cornice, a wood modillion cornice above the pediment, and a wood cupola on top. A 20th-century wing extending to the rear from the left is not considered to have special architectural interest. The interior has not been inspected.
