Description

The structure consists of walls, gatepiers, and gates located between Arbury Hall and the stable block. The walls are likely from the 17th century or early 18th century, built with random bond brick and topped with stone coping. They feature 19th-century buttresses in the stable yard and stand approximately 3 meters high. The southern section, about 10 meters long, includes a stone pier and a return section attached to the hall, which are from the early to late 19th century and constructed in Flemish bond brick with stone coping. The pier has a moulded base and a ball finial. The gatepiers date to the late 17th century and are made of sandstone ashlar, featuring a high moulded base, moulded sunk panels on the front and rear, a large acanthus cornice, a pedestal, and a pineapple finial, standing about 5 meters high. The gates and their overthrow are from the early 18th century and made of wrought iron, showcasing spear motifs, some scrollwork, scrollwork side panels, and an elaborate scrollwork overthrow with a cartouche of arms.
