Description
The gateways and walls at the Old Hall consist of two pairs of gatepiers and adjoining walls, dating from the mid to late 18th century. They are primarily constructed of red brick, with some elements of limestone ashlar. The western gatepiers, built in the mid-18th century, are rectangular and made of ashlar, featuring moulded cornices and large ball finials. An ashlar-dressed wall with quoins extends approximately 5 metres to the south and includes a blocked brick garden gateway with rectangular piers and a segmental head. The late 18th-century brick wall runs about 20 metres to the north and east, showcasing bands of dogtooth, regularly placed pilaster buttresses, and a roll moulded top. To the east, there is a pair of gatepiers made of rectangular brick on stepped plinths, topped with moulded brick caps and ashlar ball finials.
