Griff Clara, Arbury Park Griff Lodges Right Lodge

Griff Clara, located at Arbury Park Griff Lodges, is an entrance lodge built in the late 18th century, with some additions made in the mid to late 20th century. The building is constructed from regularly coursed sandstone and features an old plain-tile pyramid roof with a parapet. It has a one-unit plan with a Gothick style, standing at one storey tall and comprising a one-window range. The large moulded four-centred arched window has deep splayed reveals and Y-tracery with Gothick glazing, along with a stone shield above it. There is a moulded cornice that includes some carved ornamentation and grotesques at the corners, as well as a cusped openwork parapet. On the left return side, there is a roll-moulded four-centred arched former doorway that has a 20th-century two-light casement inserted. To the right, there is a single-storey addition, and at the rear, a two-storey addition, both of which are rendered and colourwashed. The interior has not been inspected.
