Description

NUNEATON AND BEDWORTH GRIFF LANE SP38NW (West side) Griff Clara, Arbury Park 4/54 Griff Lodges: left Lodge GV II

Entrance lodge. Late C18 with mid/late C20 additions. Regular coursed sandstone. Old plain-tile pyramid roof with parapet. One-unit plan with additions. Gothick style. One storey; one-window range. Large moulded 4-centred arched window has deep splayed reveals and Y-tracery with Gothick glazing. Stone shield above. Moulded cornice with some carved ornament, and grotesques to corners. Cusped openwork parapet. Right return side has roll-moulded 4-centred arched former doorway with C20 two-light casement inserted. Single-storey addition to left and 2-storey range to rear are rendered and colourwashed. Interior not inspected.
