Description
This is a farmhouse and attached farm buildings located approximately 50 meters northeast of Whitley Farmhouse, which is not included in this listing. The buildings date from the early 19th century and are constructed of Flemish bond brick with old plain-tile roofs. The farmhouse features a string course and brick ridge stacks at the rear. It has a double-depth plan, is two storeys tall with an attic, and has a two-window range. The central entrance is a plank door, and the windows are three-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, all set under segmental arches. The left side of the building has two-light casements on the ground floor and in the attic, while the rear has twin gables. The left range is pebbledashed.
Inside, the farmhouse includes an open fireplace with a moulded cornice and a run-out chamfered ceiling beam in the room to the left. The attached farm buildings at the rear consist of a low one-storey, three-bay range on the left with two doorways and a wide opening. At right angles to this is a three-bay barn and attached stables, both featuring a brick dentil cornice and vents. The barn has a central doorway and lower basket-arched double doors at the rear, with spur walls and through-purlin roofs inside. The stable on the left has two segmental-arched doorways, while the pitch doorway is on the right.
