Description
Northgate House is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of whitewashed brick in Flemish bond, with a rendered right gable wall and a pantile roof, featuring brick and rendered stacks. The building has a central stairhall plan, is one and a half rooms deep, and includes a rear service extension. It is two stories high with a symmetrical three-window front. The central entrance has a six-panel door with a divided overlight, set within a pilastered doorcase topped with a cornice. The house features sash windows throughout, with glazing bars on the first floor. All windows are fitted with stone sills and have flat arches made of gauged brick. There is a raised band at the first floor level and a stepped brick eaves course, along with end stacks.
