Description
Nos. 80 and 82 High Street is a house that now incorporates a shop. It dates from the early 18th century and has mid-19th century alterations. The building is made of plastered brick and features a plain tile roof with raised verges. It has two storeys and displays rusticated quoins of unequal length that break through a bracketed eaves cornice, similar to The Swan Hotel. The facade consists of four bays, with 19th-century four-pane sash windows on the first floor, a 19th-century canted bay window on the ground floor to the right, and a projecting 19th-century shop front to the left. The central entrance is a 19th-century six-panel door with a rectangular overlight and a moulded doorcase that includes a fluted key.
