Description
1 and 3 Church Hill is a meeting hall dated 1795, with alterations from the late 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick and has a plain tile roof. It stands two storeys high and features six bays, with 4-pane sash windows that have wedge-shaped plaster lintels, raised keys, and moulded sills. Each corner of the building is accentuated by brick pilaster strips. The ground floor includes fixed light windows with cast iron bars, alternating with round-headed archways, two of which have double leaf doors. These three arches appear to be later additions. On the right side of the building, there is a 20th-century glazed door set within an 18th-century opening that has a plaster lintel. Attached to the right end of the main structure is a single-bay link with a slightly lower ridge line, featuring a 4-pane sash window above a carriage arch that once led to a yard at the rear. One of the bricks on the front of the building is inscribed "T.S. 1795". Inside, the first floor consists of one large room.
