Description
Old Bank House, now used as offices, is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is built of red brick and features a hipped plain tile roof with brick ridge stacks. The building stands three storeys tall and has a moulded plaster plinth and eaves cornice. The front is highlighted by a pair of three-storey, three-light canted bays, which have glazing bar casements set in moulded openings with pointed arches. There is also a similar window in the recessed centre of the façade. A central Doric porch with a cornice and pediment leads to a 20th-century glazed door that is framed by a moulded plaster surround with a pointed head and an overlight. To the left, there is a two-storey single-bay wing known as Mews House, which features a dentilled eaves cornice and a plain coped parapet. The windows here are glazing bar sashes with wedge-shaped lintels that are grooved to resemble voussoirs. A 20th-century door is located to the right within a moulded plaster doorcase that has a pediment. The interior has not been inspected.
