Description
BAXTERLEY SP29NE 1/83 Hall Farmhouse - II Shown on Ordnance Survey map as Baxterley Hall Farm. Farmhouse. Rear wing is C17, largely rebuilt C19; early/mid C18 front range with C19 alterations. Front range of Flemish bond brick with string course. Rear wing is partly timber framed with brick infill, but rebuilt in brick. Late C20 plain-tile hipped roof; old brick ridge stack. Complex L-plan with wing on left to rear. 3 storeys; 2-window range. Front range was originally 4 bays and retains parts of blocked openings with gauged brick flat arches. Ground floor has two C19 bay windows with C19/C20 three-light wood mullioned and transomed windows. First floor has blocked openings to left and right, and late C20 top-hung windows with C19 brick segmental arches cut into other openings. Second floor is low and has small windows with glazing bars. Entrance in wing has C20 part-glazed door. Wing has some framing, including former cross gable now built-up and with the roof running in the other direction. Irregular C19 and C20 fenestration. Interior not inspected.
