Description

Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. It features brick cladding, which is partly rendered, on a timber-framed structure, and has a tile roof with coped gables and brick stacks. The building is arranged in an L-plan. The gable facing front is to the left and consists of a single storey with an attic, displaying a symmetrical three-window range.

A projecting two-storey gabled porch from the 19th century has a pointed opening, an overlight above the inner four-panel door that includes some glazing, narrow return lights, and a small casement window on the first floor. On the ground floor, there are two segmental-headed windows with 20th-century cross-casements. The house has a gable-end stack and two cross-axial stacks. The right side facing the street is plastered and has two segmental-headed windows with 20th-century cross-casements on each floor, while the left side features similar boarded windows on both floors. The rear elevation includes a blind gable to the right of a 19th-century lean-to outshut.

Inside, there is much exposed timber framing, mostly from the 17th century, including a re-used curved brace that is reputed to be a fragment of a 14th-century base cruck.
