GV II

House, now day nursery. Late C18 with mid C19 addition. Brick with ashlar dressings; slate roof with brick cross-axial stack and end stack. Double-depth, central-staircase plan. 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range. Ground and 1st floor sill bands; top cornice and stone-coped brick parapet; outer windows in forward breaks. Round-headed entrance has doorcase with pilasters and open pediment, fanlight with decorative glazing bars over 6-panel door. Ground floor has canted bay windows with plastered parapets and 4-pane horned sashes; windows to 1st floor have rubbed brick flat arches with keystones over plate-glass horned sashes. C19 two-storey wing to left has similar details, but has brick sill bands and top cogged frieze; windows have brick cambered arches, those to 1st floor with 12-pane sashes. Rear has gabled wing. Interior not inspected. Part of same build as Tame House (q.v.).
