Description

HEMINGBROUGH MAIN STREET SE 63 SE (west side) 10/46 The Old Hall (formerly 17.11.66 listed under Town Street) GV II House now two dwellings. Late C18 with later additions and alterations. Pinkish-brown brick with ashlar dressings and Welsh slate roof. Double depth plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays of which the centre is slightly higher and recessed. Centre bay: fielded-panel door in doorcase with dentil frieze and broken pediment within round-arched recess. Windows to either side, that to left a small 6-pane casement, that to right a 2-pane sash, both under painted flat arches. 3-course 1st floor band. 2 two-pane sashes under flat arches of red rubbed brick, now painted and with ashlar sills. Modillion eaves cornice. Frieze. Pediment with semicircular recess. Wings. Brick quoins. Ground floor has two 2-pane sashes to left bay and further entrance and similar sash to right. 1st floor band. Diocletian windows with rubbed brick architrave. Stepped 2nd floor band. Frieze with ashlar coping. Ridge and end stacks. Interior to left has rod on vase dogleg staircase.
