Description

The Old Hall is a house that has been converted into two dwellings. It was built in the late 18th century and has undergone some later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of pinkish-brown brick with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. It has a double depth plan and stands two storeys tall with three bays, the centre bay being slightly higher and recessed.

The centre bay contains a fielded-panel door set in a doorcase that has a dentil frieze and a broken pediment within a round-arched recess. On either side of the door, there are windows; the left window is a small 6-pane casement, while the right is a 2-pane sash, both situated under painted flat arches. There is a three-course band at the first floor level. The first floor features two 2-pane sashes, which are under flat arches made of red rubbed brick, now painted, and have ashlar sills. The building is topped with a modillion eaves cornice, a frieze, and a pediment with a semicircular recess.

The wings of the building are accentuated by brick quoins. The ground floor has two 2-pane sashes in the left bay, along with an entrance and another similar sash in the right bay. The first floor band continues around the building. There are also Diocletian windows with rubbed brick architraves and a stepped second floor band. The frieze features ashlar coping, and there are ridge and end stacks. Inside, the left side has a rod on vase dogleg staircase.
