Description
Hawthorn House is a house dating from the late 18th century, with later alterations and additions, including a late 19th-century extension to the left. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick, with a pinkish-yellow brick extension and a pantile roof. The house has two storeys and three bays. The central entrance features a 20th-century panelled door. Throughout the building, there are 20th-century 9-paned casement windows, with a blind panel opening above the door, all set under flat arches made of rubbed brick. A three-course band runs along the first floor, and there is a dentil eaves band. The house has ashlar kneelers and coping, as well as end stacks. The two-storey, two-bay extension has 4-pane sash windows under wedge lintels, a dentil eaves detail, and an end stack. There is also a 4-pane sliding sash window on the right gable end.
