Description
This is a roving bridge located on the Caldon Canal in Endon and Stanley, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of painted brick with stone copings. The bridge features a broad elliptical arch that has a drip moulding, and it has a cambered parapet with piers at both ends. This section of the Caldon Canal was opened around 1779 to facilitate the transport of limestone from Caldon Low, designed by engineers Brindley and Henshaw.
