Description
Mayfield is a house dating from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and has a concrete tile roof with end stacks. The building has a T-shaped plan and consists of two storeys plus a gable-lit attic. The front has three windows, with the outer windows on each floor featuring three-light casements. These casements have painted wedged heads that include a raised central section beneath a cusped drip mould. The central window on the first floor is of Serlian type and has a painted stone surround. Below this, the entrance features a five-panel door with a moulded surround and a pediment supported by consoles. The house is located next to a canal and is close to a bridge.
