Description
This barn, located approximately 15 metres north-east of Lower Lady Meadows Farmhouse, dates from the early 18th century, with an early 19th-century addition. It is constructed from coursed dressed and squared stone, topped with a tiled roof featuring verge parapets supported by corbelled kneelers on the earlier section. The barn has an L-shaped plan and a two-level layout, with a hay loft situated above the cattle sheds and cart house. The 18th-century section includes a centrally placed hay loft door above three doors, with the outer two featuring heavy lintels. The 19th-century wing on the left end has a block mullioned window at the upper level and an elliptically-arched cart entry next to another door. This barn forms part of a yard that includes the farmhouse.
