Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating to 1597, with alterations and additions made in the early 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed dressed and squared stone, with a heavy stone or slate roof, verge parapets, and end stacks. The front elevation, which is a 19th-century design, has a principal two-storey, three-window section to the right, featuring glazing bar sash windows, the outer ones being tripartite. A round-arched ground-floor window is situated to the left of centre. A lower bay to the left has a large three-light casement window, and a further short lower bay to the left contains a single window and a boarded farm entrance door. The rear elevation has two 16th-century gables, with a raised string at first-floor head level. It features 19th-century Gothick three-light casements to the ground and first floors of each gable, and stone ovolo mullioned two-light attic windows. An inset panel in the parapet over the valley is inscribed “RT 1597”. A three-sided bay window and a 20th-century entrance are located on the west elevation.
