Description
The Cottage and adjoining unit is a house that has been divided into two units. It is dated 1691 and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building features coursed dressed and squared red sandstone, which has been rendered on the right-hand part. It has a tiled roof with verge parapets and end stacks. The structure is two storeys high with a dormer-lit attic and has a three-window front. The windows are 20th-century casements, and there are two gabled dormers set well into the roof. The only ground floor retains a 17th-century chamfered reveal, which has a cavetto string that rises to and steps for a heavy lintel. There is a Tudor arched opening inscribed with "H W M 16 91" and a 17th-century boarded door. Additionally, there is a 20th-century entrance to the right of the centre.
