Description

Hall Yard Buildings, originally known as The Young Generation and Beautiful Homes, is a late 18th-century building with mid-19th and 20th-century alterations. Initially mistaken for a mill and now used as shops, it occupies a corner site on the High Street. The building is constructed of red brick with a tiled roof featuring a dentilled eaves course. It has an end stack on the right-hand side and ridge stacks. The three-storey gable end fronts the High Street and features segmental-headed casement windows – two on the ground and second floors – and a large four-light window to the left of centre on the first floor. The side elevation has five windows, similar to the front. A 20th-century shop front is located on the left, and two 20th-century entrances are centrally positioned.
