Description
Nos. 14, 14A, and 16 High Street are a pair of houses dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of red brick, with a small section rendered, and feature tiled roofs and ridge stacks.
Nos. 14 and 14A are located on the right, are lower, and now consist of two storeys divided into three sections. The left gable has a range of segmental-headed three-light casement windows, with segmental-headed entrances at both ends of the gable. The central section of the building also has a similar range of windows, while the right end is rendered and features a large plate glass shop window with a recessed entrance.
No. 16 has a gable frontage that includes two storeys and an attic. The attic window is positioned above two ranges of casement windows below, all featuring gauged brick heads and moulded raised keystones. The ground floor has been altered, retaining only the upper part of the right-hand window, while a small shop front is located to the left, with a combined entrance and a former entrance in the centre.
