Description
No. 5 Dog Lane is a house that has been converted into part of a shop, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick with blue headers and features a plain-tiled roof. The building is three storeys high with a basement and has a single-window range. The entrance is accessed via stone steps with a plain iron railing, set within a wooden architrave that includes a panelled rebate and a pediment supported by console brackets. To the side of the doorway is a 16-pane sash window with a flat-arched brick head. Above this, there is a three-light mullioned and transomed window, along with an additional inserted window, both featuring cambered brick heads. The attic storey includes a three-light casement window, while the basement below the doorway has an iron-framed window. A stack is located on the lower gable. The interior has not been inspected.
