Description
5 and 7 Sheep Market is a pair of houses that have been converted into a single shop, dating from the mid-18th century. The building features Flemish bond brickwork with blue headers and has a plain-tiled roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic. The façade has a five-window range and includes a well-preserved late 19th-century shop front, which has reeded pilasters and fluted cast-iron columns that separate the left-hand window from the central recessed entrance. To the right, there is a round-arched passage entry. The windows are 12-pane sash types with stone cills and flat-arched brick heads. There are also two renewed dormers in the roof. An axial stack indicates the original division of the property into two separate houses, one with two windows and the other with three. The interior has not been inspected.
