Description
This barn, located approximately 25 meters east of the Grange Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century but has been altered, re-roofed, and extended in the late 19th century. It is constructed from coursed dressed and squared stone and features verge parapets on corbelled kneelers at the right-hand end. Originally, the barn had two levels with a hay loft over cattle sheds, but the floor has since been removed. The structure is divided into two parts by a large full-height cart entry situated to the left of the center. The left section is from the 19th century, while the right section is from the 17th century and is positioned on the lower part of the slope. The upper level has two rows of slit vents above three heavy lintel openings, with the two openings on the right now serving as windows, and an additional window inserted to the left.
