Description
The portico at Batchacre is a large porch, which is the only remaining part of a late 16th century house that was situated within a moat. It features an inscription on the front that reads "Bono Vince Malum 1584". The structure is supported by pairs of Ionic columns that hold up an entablature framing a round-headed arch. There are three armorial shields present, and the inner arch is also round-headed and decorated with ornamentation.
